Groups of Natural Stone Fireplace Frames
Kanterra Stone World (Canterra) has designed, carved and installed more than 175 different fireplace frames through its business life, utilizing accumulated experience. Canterra realized that those fireplace frames could be gather in four major groups:
- Group 1, Molding fireplace frames. This is the simplest way to build a fireplace surround, installing a flat molding around the fireplace and a sill molding on the top
- Group 2, Small fireplace frames. The mantel and pedestals are larger and elaborated than Group 1, but general remain small
- Group 3, Standard fireplace frames. This is the most common size and type of fireplace frames. Its mantel and pedestals have more volume than group 1 and 2, as does its carving details
- Group 4, Custom fireplace frames. Every other fireplace frame not included in groups 1, 2 and 3 are custom fireplace frames. Usually, they are unique. Customers look for a special carving detail or particular shape.
Either Cantera stone or Limestone can be used to carve any fireplace frame model group.
